People almost forgot. Hell, even I was a bit excited. The Blue Jays were the hottest team in the league and we put our streak-killing aces out there and won a couple.
But…we’re the Mets, remember? We laid a big, fat egg last night. A classic shutout. Our 3-run cap is no joke. We really do have a limit. We were careful and didn’t even come close to it last night. We were hitless with RISP.
Niese pitched well against a team that kills lefties. Akeelah and the Bee pitched so poorly in his ML debut that he was sent back down. Whoops.
Murphy’s return date has been DELAYED. Duhhh. Now it’s Tuesday instead of Saturday. Just another day or two! And Reyes will be back tomorrow!
The Mets took both games at Shittifield. Now we face them for 2 games on the road, where we usually BLOW. Also, we’ll get to see Dickey on Thursday! The BJs really should’ve had him start at Shitti. Dude fucking owned that place.
Niese takes the bump tonight…a BIG bump if you’ve seen that schnoz of his…
Niese is a lefty. The Blue Jays DESTROY lefties. Especially in Toronto. Awww, here it goes. Right, Kel?
Just when the nonbelievers were saying Harvey was “overrated,” he goes out and rocks Shittifield. 7 innings, 0 runs, 0 walks, 6 Ks, only 4 H, and perhaps most telling he had four 1-2-3 innings. He was pumped as fuck, with his energy infecting the team and the fans. The ACE. I love him. He had an RBI double, too. Also, the Blue Jays had come into this series scoring 8 runs/game over their 11 game winning streak. Thor stopped the streak, and Harvey buried ’em. 2-game sweep.
As of now, the Metsblow war room consists of two people, other than myself. To my war room guy in the Bahamas: if the Mets keep playing like this, I don’t think you should come back. Don’t fuck with the chi.
Everything’s really going our way. Greasy Ceciliani and Ruben Sangwich both look good. They’re SIGNIFICANTLY better than Kirk and Soup. That’s big. With Murphy coming back on Saturday (I’ll believe it when I see it), we might actually have a bench. Key word: MIGHT.
Sidenote: We resigned Kirk. HA. HA. HA. Ow, my sides. I’m holding my sides because that’s such a funny joke.
Complaint Department: We almost lost. We didn’t get any insurance runs (3 run limit, boys!) and our pen is shakier by the day. We’re garbage dogshit. But we won. But we’re in 1st place. So how does the front office feel? “Since we’re already in 1st, we see no reason to make a move.” -Sandy
Also, I’m not sure why the “complaint department” is a section of this page. The entire website is one giant complaint department. That’s another complaint. Be less organized.
Bobby Parnell could help us. Although his velocity is way down and he’s really laboring up there. He got a big FAT K on a big fat breaking ball when he really needed it. That was good. I don’t understand how his ‘bow is worse than Tanaka’s right now. I guess I understand it because life is rigged and Parnell has METS disease and Tanaka has YANKEES magic voodoo. Mejia’s return will help us, as well.
d’Arnaud has a hit in every game since his return. Recker has 2 hits on the season. This is a big change and a big reason why we’re competing again. 2-game sweep completed. Now we go to Toronto for 2 more.
Matt Harvey has basically been the worst pitcher in baseball for the past month. He’s been getting ROCKED.
Bury them tonight, Matt. Make Reyes look foolish (god I love Reyes…imagine if we still had him! Naah, we let him walk. Yay Wilpons) and show the league who you really are.
If Harvey gets rocked again, I think they need to consider a setback–maybe give Matz a turn in the rotation and let Harvey rest.
Whatever. Make all the speculation and concern moot. Have a big, Dark Knight kinda night, and show us all that you’re the truth.
Way to end the Jays’ winning streak. Way to do it like a bunch of assholes.
I don’t blame Familia. Collins keeps asking him for 4-out saves. His arm is fuuuucked.
Thor looked spectacular. He rolled with Buehrle and Buehrle has been one of the best for a decade now. Thor and TDA came over from the Jays (for Dickey) and that’s one trade that I can actually give the thumbs-up to.
Everyone’s talking about what a great comeback win it was. Well…uhhh….how bout we score some fucking runs so we don’t have to have a heart attack every damn game? Can we win a game by more than 1 run? Can we win a game in 9 innings?
Props to Cuddy for hustling. We have no team speed (Herrera looks fast! Herrera looks good!) but Cuddy has been known for his grit and it was on display last night. That’s how you manufacture runs. You have to fucking MOVE.
Ow, my spine.GM Sandy “Pinocchio Ass Nigga” Alderson lied again about David Wright today. Or wait, he didn’t lie. He just said that Wright COULD be back by the all-star break. Yeah, and he COULD be back by May 15th. And Jesus COULD rise up and tell the people to kill all the Jews and Muslims, but it ain’t gonna happen.
This is another completely transparent move by those Jew fuckhead Wilpons. They’re not gonna spend a time. They expect us to hold out and hope for David Wright? GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE. Sell the team. Fuck you. Even if Wright was fully healthy, you STILL GO OUT and get someone. Our depth is paper thin. We resigned Kirk for fucks sake. I hate you, Jeff Wilpon. I wouldn’t let you in my house in the pouring rain. Get out. You’re an awful person. This isn’t a lighthearted roast. I don’t do Metsblow in jest. I truly hate you. You are awful. I hope all the bad things in life happen to you and only you.
~The Dickpiece will be pitching game 4 of the series. They should really have him pitch in Shitti Citi. He had the best season in Citi’s history. He owns the damn place.
~Blue Jays are suuuurging. 11 in a row. That sounds familiar. Lotta good it did the Mets–1st place! The Mets seem to run into streaking teams constantly. And we supposedly have the pitching to silence surging bats.
Greasy Ceciliani! d’Arnaud! Herrera! Dingers from three dudes who were either injured or in the minors just a week ago. Also, Lagares has been playing hurt for a while, but he labored through it and looks more comfortable at the plate. He’ll need TJ for his throwing arm, though. And he missed a play in deep center. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him beat over the top before.
Gee will never start again as a Met. Book it. If someone in the 5-man rotation gets hurt, they’re gonna give Matz the start.
The Mets took the series. They should’ve swept. Thank the Seven that Familia was back from paternity leave. He got a 4-out save (Freeman in the 8th) and it was relatively smooth sailing. Herrera made a brilliant play. The team is much better with him and TDA back. We have paper thin depth.
Familia has been spectacular–the MVP of the team so far this season. Yesterday’s abortion of a 9th inning and the laborious, lifeless extra innings that followed showed just how important Familia is. Pay heem. Pay zat man his mah-nee.
