Give Harvey the Game Ball and the Shot

Mets 4, Cubs 2

I don’t need to recap shit because all of Metsblow nation watched. Murph’s bat (and glove?!), Cespedes’ arm, Grandy’s skills, Familia’s work…we know this. All I’m saying is give Matt Harvey the fucking shot. He got rocked in the pitching arm on a comebacker. Adrenaline kept him out there but he’s gonna be sore as shit today. Boras must be going nuts. Give him the cortisone or the roids or whatever the fuck helps. Give him the game ball and the shot.

Jesus Is Good

Mets 3, Dodgers 2 (Mets win NLDS 3-2)

“Jesus is good. Cespedes is hitting behind me.” -Murph, on his NLDS performance. I could not have said it better myself.

Jesus is SO good. Pray pray pray. Pray to the Lord of Light. Murph was the MVP of this series. 3 dingers off of the 2 “best” pitchers in beisbol. And some miracle baserunning. Highlight reel baserunning from Murph is a clear sign that Jesus is good.

Fam put on a fucking CLINIC. deGrom’s balls are HUGE. Thor was throwing HEAT. Collins pushed all the right buttons–leaving in deGrom when he didn’t have anything close to his best stuff? Taking out Thor so Fam could throw a 6-out save? All the right buttons! Joe Maddon be damned!

Now we face the Cubs. They murked us in the regular season but that was pre-Cespedes. Also, Russell is OUT for the NLCS. That’s a huge break for us. Harvey game 1. At home. Let’s fucking go. Wright and Duda need to wake the fuck up. God damn this shit is stressful.

What the Lineup SHOULD Look Like

Conforto needs to be higher up in the lineup
Conforto needs to be higher up in the lineup

Here’s what Collins did:

screen-shot-2015-10-15-at-4-10-14-pm

Here’s what it SHOULD be:

Grandy, Murph, Cespedes, Conforto, Duda, d’Arnaud, Wright, Flores, deGrom

Whatever. The biggest thing is that deGrom is on the hill and Conforto’s at least in the lineup somewhere. Let’s GOOOOOOO!!!

Tip Your Cap

Dodgers 3, Mets 1

Tip your cap. They cheated to win game 2. Not this time. Kershaw dealt.

Matz pitched well. Kershaw got a hit. Then, a groundout that mighty oak tree Flores couldn’t get to and a pop up that fell in. Of course, the “player not good enough for the Mets” Justin Turner with the only hard hit off Matz. Cespedes bobbled one, too. Matz pitched very well. It’s not on him.

It’s not on any one hitter, either. We didn’t do shit. Murph didn’t get it done when he had to keep the train going for Cespedes in the 8th, but he also hit a dinger, so it’s not on Murph.

deGrom for game 5. I like our chances. I’ll take him against anyone, anywhere. Move Wright down in the order against the righty. Conforto cleanup. I’d do:

Grandy, Murph, Cespedes, Conforto, Duda, d’Arnaud, Wright, Flores, deGrom

Let’s. Fucking. Go. Thursday at 8:07. I’m just gonna sit in a dark room until then and count the minutes.

Nothing Shocking

Mets 13, Dodgers 7

Is it shocking that Grandy was heroic? No.

Is it shocking that Cespedes hit the ball a bazillion feet at a bazillion mph? No.

Is it shocking that Harvey battled but still isn’t fully recovered from TJ? No.

Is it shocking that our bullpen–other than Familia–blows? No.

Is it shocking that the team listened to me? No. By stomping on the opponent and going up by a shitload, you effectively take the umps and their Hollywood pageantry (re: rigging) out of play. Good job. Just what the doctor ordered. Now clinch.

Move On, Get Tough

Game 3 tonight at 8:37 (don’t tune in early for the bullshit commercials…stick to SNY, if ya gotta have the TV on).

Pray pray pray. Pray for Tejada, pray for Flores, pray for Reynolds. Pray for the Mets and pray for their health.

Pray the umps take their hollywood pageantry out of the game for once? Sure, but we’ve moved on. Now comes the biggest game since nlcs game 7 in 2006. Oops.

Hey, it’s HarveyDay. Couldn’t be more jacked up. Biggest game ever by far. Get tough. We’ve shown resiliency all season–both in games and in between games. That stems from elite starting pitching. And that’s what we need more than ever, now. Let’s go.

The Slide Itself

The slide itself and all the attention it’s getting is all a mummer’s farce. Don’t let the MLB and their puppet Joe Torre and bow tie to a baseball game wearing dorkazoid Ken Rosenthal fool you. Utley is not the issue. It’s the umpire and the rigging. That’s the real issue. Someone in a studio who wants it to go 5 games so they can squeeze out more money. Follow the money. The ump that put Utley back on 2nd base is a cheater and it makes the game not fun and everyone involved should be jailed. Selig should’ve been jailed decades ago.

1 Down, 10 to Go

Mets 3, Dodgers 1

deGrom. Yes. We already knew it. Now the world knows it. Everyone’s watching, and everyone’s talking, so I just want to make 1 point that I haven’t seen someone else write:

Curtis Granderson is (also) the hero of last night’s game. He is (also) the team mvp for the season. Last night, with a 1-2 count, Grandy worked a walk to load the bases. DW hit the big single in the next AB. Grandy did this against the toughest lefty (besides Matz) and he’s been doing this all year. He quietly put together an incredible year and he did it again last night. In fact, he was all over Kershaw all game. Grandy. Boom.

1 down, 10 to go.
